Five years after launching her professional journey on the Aramco-backed circuit, Spain’s Peláez Triviño fires a final-round 64 (-8) to capture the Aramco China Championship at Mission Hills
In a poetic, full-circle milestone that embodies the very mission of Golf Saudi’s investment in women’s golf, Spain’s Ana Peláez Triviño produced an electric final-round performance to capture the 2026 Aramco China Championship at Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen.
The victory marks a defining full-circle moment for the 28-year-old Spaniard, who launched her professional career on this very platform when she made her pro debut at the Aramco Team Series – Sotogrande in August 2021. Five years after stepping onto the world stage via Golf Saudi and Aramco's flagship initiative, Peláez Triviño has officially claimed one of its most prestigious crowns, winning the US$2 million season finale of the PIF Global Series.
Entering Sunday within striking distance, Peláez Triviño delivered a flawless eight-under-par 64, the round of the tournament, to storm up the leaderboard and finish at 20-under-par (268: 69-66-73-64), clinching a dominant four-stroke victory. The triumph secures Peláez Triviño a share of the US$2 million prize purse, setting a global benchmark for prize elevation and commercial investment in female athletes.
China’s Liqi Zeng and England’s Mimi Rhodes mounted spirited final-day charges to finish joint runners-up at 16-under-par, while 16-year-old Chinese amateur standout Yujie Liu took solo fourth at 15-under-par, highlighting the deep pipeline of international and emerging Asian talent nurtured by the co-sanctioned Ladies European Tour (LET) and China LPGA Tour (CLPGA) event.
Speaking on her full-circle victory, Ana Peláez Triviño said:
" The $2 million is nice, but I think everything that goes around $2 million is even better. It’s not only prize money, but also everything. TV coverage, playing the best golf courses around the world, the media, and everything that builds around this event."
Underlining the immense scale and international resonance of the series, the season finale brought together world-class players representing 32 different countries, with high-definition broadcast coverage distributed to households in over 100 countries across the globe this weekend.
“These global series through the past years have been really empowering for all us players on tour, especially LET players. It’s been amazing for the world to see our talents. Having the opportunity to let the world see what we have to bring has been a great journey, and we’re all really thankful for that.”, added Trivińo.
As the official curtain-closer to the 2026 PIF Global Series, the Aramco China Championship capped off a transformative year for women's athletics. Beyond the high-stakes individual stroke play, the week united sports executives, commercial leaders, and hundreds of aspiring junior golfers across the Greater Bay Area through grassroots coaching clinics, reinforcing Golf Saudi and Aramco’s commitment to driving long-term commercial equity and global development.
