Home favourite Sung Hyun Park posted a four under par round of 68 at New Korea Country Club in round two at the Aramco Korea Championship on the PIF Global Series sparking wild celebrations from her fan club, ‘Namdalla’, as she makes the cut and heads into the final round today.

The two-time Major champion, now ranked 740th in the world, will be thrilled to have made the cut on home soil – marking a welcome return to form for the former World No.1 after a challenging start to the season.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to success – not only has she claimed two Major titles, but she has also secured seven LPGA victories and 10 wins on the LPGA of Korea Tour.

Reflecting on the support she received from her devoted fan base throughout the round yesterday, she said: “Absolutely – especially on a day like today, their support meant a lot. Even yesterday when things weren't going my way, the fans kept cheering for me until the end, helping me stay focused. I think that’s why I was able to play even better today.

“The round went well. The course conditions were much better than the first round, which allowed me to make more birdies. It felt like I was finally able to play a solid and steady round after a while.”

Challenging weather conditions tested the field from the start, but she remained composed and focused, executing her game plan from the start.

“Today, my plan was to play more conservatively and avoid unnecessary risks. Fortunately, my putting was really solid, which helped me make a lot of birdies.

“There’s just one round left, so I want to keep the rhythm I had today and stay focused. Rather than trying to do too much, I’ll focus on taking it one shot at a time.”

Park will be looking to have another strong result in the final round today as she chases her first win since 2019.
